Perigraftitis treatment and histology: A case report

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Currently, the two diagnoses of inflammatory peri‐implant diseases are peri‐implant mucositis and peri‐implantitis. The etiology of peri‐implant mucositis and peri‐implantitis is bacterial colonization of the implant. Thus, removal of the implant should eliminate the infection and allow the inflammation to resolve. However, at least

Modeling dissolved organic matter mobilization and immobilization in the root zone: Effect of soil treatment on denitrification and N leaching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This report summarizes the technical description of a code/model concept simulating mobilization and immobilization of dissolved organic matter (DOM) in the Daisy model.

Effects of zinc and fluoride on the remineralisation of artificial carious lesions under simulated plaque fluid conditions. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The aim was to study the effects of zinc (Zn) and fluoride (F) on remineralisation at plaque fluid concentrations. Artificial carious lesions were created in 2 acid-gel demineralising systems (initially infinitely undersaturated and partially saturated ...

Can Coloured Fluoride Gel Stain Demineralised Enamel?

open access: yesOral health & preventive dentistry, 2018
This study evaluated the colour changes of demineralized enamel after treatment with coloured fluoride gel.Enamel blocks obtained from bovine incisors were submitted to artificial caries induction by pH cycling followed by fluoride gel applications (2% sodium fluoride, pH 6.8) using a colourless gel (control group), pink or blue gels.

Combination of autogenous dentin graft and allograft for horizontal ridge augmentation: A case report

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Autogenous particulate dentin has emerged as one of the promising biocompatible alternatives to traditional bone graft materials in alveolar ridge augmentation. Although its clinical success is documented, comprehensive studies combining histological and radiographic evaluations remain limited. This case report addresses this gap by

Fluoride and dental caries [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Fluorine was probably discovered by the chemist Scheele in 1771, and eventually isolated in 1886 by Moissan. Its presence in bones and teeth was initially disputed but eventually confirmed in the middle of the eighteenth century.

Application of Ultrasonic Sensors for Determining the Height of Dynamic Two‐Phase Layers in Tray Columns

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
Ultrasonic sensors are evaluated for their applicability in dynamic gas–liquid systems. By comparing sensor data with two independent optical reference methods, their robustness and reliability are demonstrated under varying flow conditions and tray geometries in column systems.

Catalytic pyrolysis of impregnated biomass [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
An innovative way of catalysis was tested for its potential to reduce the amount of hydrocarbons produced during pyrolysis of oak wood. The experiments were carried out in a horizontal tubular reactor fed with a controlled flowrate of Nitrogen and ...

Subchronic dietary exposure of rats to cadmium alters the metabolism of metals essential to bone health [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Cadmium (Cd) was recently identified as a risk factor for osteoporosis. Skeletal damage may be the critical effect of low-level long-term exposure to Cd in the general population exposed via food, but the mechanisms behind this are not clearly understood.

Modelling of continuous low‐temperature emulsion co‐polymerization in 3D‐printed reactor

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
A kinetic model for the emulsion copolymerization of butyl acrylate/styrene at low temperatures is proposed and validated against experiments with a redox initiator system. The model was successfully transferred to a 3D‐printed tubular reactor and conversions of more than 80% and small particles sizes below 40 nm were observed.
