Deuterium exchange during acid-demineralisation

Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 1988
Isotopic analyses of residues prepared by demineralisation of the Murchison meteorite using D-labelled reagents provide evidence for measurable exchange of H-isotopes between residue and reagents. Precise quantification of this effect is precluded by substantial inhomogeneity of the meteoritic organic matter.

Demineralisation of Municipal Biowaste Hydrolysates

ChemistrySelect, 2019
Abstract This work reports the demineralisation of soluble biorganic hyrolysates (SBOs) obtained from three materials sampled from a municipal biowaste treatment plant. The SBOs contain mineral and organic matter.

Morphometric assessment of enamel demineralisation from photographs

Journal of Dentistry, 1998
To investigate the validity and reproducibility of a method of morphometric assessment of enamel demineralisation. An in vitro investigation was carried out on 22 human teeth. One investigator coated the crowns of the teeth with an acid-resistant varnish, leaving a small window on the buccal surface.

Demineralisation of vinasse by electrodialysis

Journal of Food Engineering, 1988
Abstract The purpose of this study was to examine the possibility of demineralising vinasse by electrodialysis. A prototype laboratory electrodialyzer was used with ‘Selemion’ (Asahi Glass Co) ion-exchange membranes at a constant current density between 5 and 15 mA cm −2 .

A Method to Monitor Dental Demineralisation in vitro

Caries Research, 1996
This paper presents an in vitro method for monitoring the progression of dental hard tissue demineralisation using consecutive, standardised radiographs. Reliability and factors affecting the reproducibility of this method were established by replicate measurements and comparison to histological evaluation.

Demineralisation with ion-exchange materials

Desalination, 1967
Abstract Tulsion-14 (commercially available phenol sulphonic acid cation exchanger) and Tulsion-WB (commercially available weak base anion exchanger) have been used both in the granular and heterogeneous membrane forms for demineralisation. By the column technique, three different sources of water have been investigated, and the quality of water ...
