Light‐Induced Phase Segregation in Mixed‐Halide Perovskites: Reconciling Mechanistic and Thermodynamic Models

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Light‐induced halide segregation limits the stability of mixed‐halide perovskites. This perspective shows how different mechanistic models can be viewed within a common free‐energy framework. It highlights the need to separate kinetic and thermodynamic aspects, the need for bulk‐sensitive measurements, and the need for controlled conditions to identify

Symmetry‐Guided Optical Control of Dynamic 1D Protein Self‐Assembly and Precise In Vitro Initiation of Biomolecular Condensation

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A photoreversible 1D protein assembly has been developed by utilizing symmetry matching between StrepTactin and photoswitchable Dronpa145N. The light‐induced modulation of oligomerization allows for precise control over protein connectivity and valency.

Electric double layer in ionic liquids: A result of interplay between coupling effects and phase demixing

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Ionic liquids (ILs) are appealing electrolytes for their favorable physicochemical properties. However, despite their longstanding use, understanding the capacitive behavior of ILs remains challenging.

Three‐dimensional three‐interval thixotropy test (3D‐3ITT) protocol for cosmetic lotions: A proof‐of‐concept study linking thixotropy to sensory and emotional responses

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
From rheology to emotion: 3D‐3ITT converts usage‐like shear histories into recovery maps and thixotropy index, TI3D. In a blinded half‐face study (N = 30), the higher‐ TI3D serum (S1s) improved absorption/clean feel and increased Relax and Comfort while lowering Anxiety relative to S2s.

Hyper-DEMIX: Blind Source Separation of Hyperspectral Images Using Local ML Estimates [PDF]

open access: yes
We propose a new method to unmix hyperspectral images. Our method exploits the structure of the material abundance maps by assuming that in some regions of the spatial dimension, only one material is present.

Multispectral Analysis Graphical User Interface for Ratiometric Analysis and Background Correction

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2026.
This article describes multispectral analysis graphical user interface, an open‐source, cross‐platform graphical application for highly modular batch image analysis and visualization that requires no coding experience. With common image operations as a palette, users can define their own analysis pipeline (e.g., background subtraction into ...

Engineering Photonic Pigments From Titania–Block Copolymer Composites

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, Volume 47, Issue 19, 6 October 2026.
Ligand‐functionalized TiO2 nanoparticles selectively partition into P2VP‐rich lamellae of onion‐like PS‐b‐P2VP microspheres, increasing refractive index contrast while preserving concentric order through controlled self‐assembly. The resulting dry photonic pigments display defined Bragg reflections and angle‐robust structural color.
