In the 21st century, the longstanding question of the political and the state has resurfaced as a key issue within the network of movements and parties that emerged from the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (Partiya Karkerên Kurdistanê, PKK). This chapter explores the ideas of Abdullah Öcalan, the imprisoned leader of the PKK, in relation to this question.
