A van der Waals optoelectronic synaptic device based on a ReS2/WSe2 heterostructure and oxygen‐treated h‐BN is presented, which enables both positive and negative PSCs through photocarrier polarity reversal. Bidirectional plasticity arises from gate‐tunable band bending and charge trapping‐induced quasi‐doping.

High-performance dendrite-free lithium metal anode based on metal-organic framework glass [PDF]
The performance of lithium metal batteries is severely hampered by uncontrollable dendrite growth and volume change within the anode. This work addresses these obstacles by introducing a novel strategy: applying an isotropic and internal grain-boundary ...

Wood-inspired anisotropic hydrogel electrolyte with large modulus and low tortuosity realizing durable dendrite-free zinc-ion batteries. [PDF]
Significance The anode of aqueous zinc-ion batteries suffers from zinc dendrites and parasitic reactions, while the cathode faces vertical deposition of the intermediate product. Inspired by wood, this work introduces an anisotropic hydrogel electrolyte (

The cGAS‐STING pathway boosts HCC antitumor immunity but lacks specific activation. Nanoplatform ZMRPF induces HCC ferroptosis via lipid ROS, releasing mtDNA. It synergizes with ZMRPF‐released Mn2⁺ to activate cGAS‐STING, amplifies antigen‐presenting cell activity, reverses HCC immunosuppression, and enables robust systemic antitumor immunity ...

Electrochemical abuse transforms thermal runaway behavior in lithium‐ion batteries. Through systematic decoupling of degradation mechanisms, this study reveals that lithium plating lowers the onset temperature by 10 °C, electrolyte consumption delays high‐temperature reactions, and capacity fade reduces total heat generation. These mechanistic insights

Metabolic changes in immune cells direct the phenotype and function of the host immune system. Smart nanomaterials must target metabolic pathways to direct immune cell fate. This study reports the fabrication and first application of germanane quantum dots (GeHQDs) to modulate inflammation in vitro and in vivo.

Macrosegregation and nucleation in undercooled Pb-Sn alloys [PDF]
A technique resulting in large undercoolings in bulk samples (23g) of lead-tin alloys was developed. Samples of Pb-12.5 wt percent Sn, Pb-61 wt percent Sn, and Pb-77 wt percent Sn were processed with undercoolings ranging from 4 to 34 K and with cooling ...

Surface and Structure Engineering for Next Generation Lithium Metal Batteries [PDF]
Lithium (Li) metal has been considered as one of the most promising anode materials to replace conventional graphite for Li-ion battery due to its high theoretical capacity (3860 mAh g-1) and low electrochemical potential (-3.04 V vs standard hydrogen ...
