Lithium metal batteries offer high energy density but are challenged by dendrite growth, which can lead to short circuits and battery failure. Multiple models with varying degrees of accuracy and computational cost have been developed to understand and ...

Preparation of Twinned Dendrites of Al-Zn Alloy with High Zn Content [PDF]
Twinned dendrites in Al-Zn alloy with high Zn content (40% wt.%) were successfully prepared by directional solidification. At different directional solidification rates (1000 and 1500 μm/s), microstructures and growth orientation variations of Al twinned

Continuous 1D single crystal growth with high aspect ratio by oriented aggregation of dendrite
Continuous 1D growth of crystals is among one of the long-standing goals in material science. Classical generic methods for 1D crystal growth such as guided disposition restrict side growth by external bounding, and become difficult as the aspect ratio ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Phase-field simulation for anisotropic dendrite growth in Mg-3wt.%Zn alloy
The anisotropy interfacial energy changes the growth tendency of dendrites in different directions during solidification, when the growth tendency in a specific direction appears or disappears, the transition of dendrite orientation will happen.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Self-assembly growth of electrolytic silver dendrites
The atomic level assembly of silver dendrite has never been disclosed despite the numerous studies published on fractal dendrite structures. We report for the first time an HRTEM investigation of the formation of atomic embryos (

Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
