Statistical evaluation of dendritic growth models
Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, 1991A mathematical model (Kliemann, W. 1987. Bull. math. Biol. 49, 135-152.) that predicts the quantitative branching pattern of dendritic tree was evaluated using the apical and basal dendrites of rat hippocampal neurons. The Wald statistic for chi 2-test was developed for the branching pattern of dendritic trees and for the distribution of the maximal ...

Dendritic growth is observed quite frequently during the solidification of metals. The kinetics of the dendritic growth process is not yet well understood, and even the most rudimentary mathematical theories of this solid—liquid transformation have defied solution.

Three-dimensional dendritic growth
Journal of Crystal Growth, 1996The entire solution for three-dimensional (3D) dendritic growth of needle crystals is described analytically. Its construction involves the existing 3D selection theory for the tip of the dendrite [Ben Amar and Brener, Phys. Rev. Lett. 71 (1993) 589] plus matching of the tail to this tip.

Wedge fjord model for dendritic growth
Physical Review A, 1992A wedge fjord model for screened growth is used to investigate the extent to which such a topology is sufficient to account for the dendritic multifractal growth characteristic of diffusion-limited aggregation. The clusters found are dendritic fractals with growth probabilities having a left-sided multifractal measure with q c =0 and a max =∞
