This thesis is concerned with the taxonomy and systematics of Dendrncalamus (Bambuseae; Poaceae). It aimed to assess phylogenetic relationships in the subfamily Bambusoideae and to focus on one highly economically, ecologically and culturally im portant genus, Dendrocalamus.
