Organogenesis optimization in Dendrocalamus asper
Journal of Non Timber Forest Products, 2020Plant tissue culture offers the potential for rapidly increasing selected bamboo clones for conservation and reforestation. Bud break is important for the successful micro propagation in bamboo. An organogenesis optimization protocol is described for Dendrocalamus asper. Nodal explants containing auxiliary buds from 8-10 years old field grown clumps of

Albino inflorescence proliferation of Dendrocalamus latiflorus
In Vitro Cellular & Developmental Biology - Plant, 2006Inflorescence proliferation is a plant tissue culture technique that can be used to obtain in vitro inflorescences year-round without the intervening development of vegetative organs. In this study, we used albino mutant inflorescences of Dendrocalamus latiflorus as the original explant material to investigate the effect of plant growth regulators on ...

Cyanogenesis of Dendrocalamus: Taxiphyllin
Phytochemistry, 1977Abstract Taxiphyllin ( 1 ), l -asparagine, 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde and β-sitosterol are identified as the main extractives of the shoots of Dendrocalamus giganteus and D. hamiltonii . An analysis of the free amino acids is presented and the administration of taxiphyllin-[1- 14 C] to the inner leaves of a bamboo shoot yielding labelled asparagine ...

Somatic embryogenesis and organogenesis in Dendrocalamus hamiltonii
Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture (PCTOC), 2010In this study, mature zygotic embryos, plant growth regulators, and various media were tested with the aim of developing an efficient regeneration system for plantlets of the bamboo species Dendrocalamus hamiltonii. Callus formation was induced in explants cultured in Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 1.0–3.0 mg/l 2,4 ...

Thermogravimetric analysis of Dendrocalamus strictus bamboo fibers
Journal of Bamboo and Rattan, 2002The primary thermogram of the bamboo fibers of Dendrocalamus strictus family was recorded. Using the primary thermogram and its derivative, the initial degradation, inflection point and final degradation were determined. The refractoriness and integral procedural degradation temperatures were also determined.

Ectomycorrhizal Interaction Between Cantharellus and Dendrocalamus
2010Ectomycorrhiza forms an important association with higher plants. The knowledge about interaction of ectomycorrhiza with host plants is scarce and thus deserves much attention, particularly in case of edible ectomycorrhizae.
