Storage behaviour of bamboo (Dendrocalamus membranaceus) seeds
The seeds of Dendrocalamus membranaceus stored at different combinations of storage temperature (5, 15, 25, and 35°C) and seed moisture content (10.6, 7.1, and 5.3%) exhibited well defined trend of increasing mean viability period with the decreasing temperature and moisture content similar to orthodox seeds.

From the seeds of Dendrocalamus strictus, two new triterpenoids, 1s,2a,3s,24-tetrahydroxy-16s- O -acetylolean-12-ene-24- O -s-D-glucopyranoside and 16s- O -acetylolean-12-ene-28-oic acid 28- O -a-{L-rhamnopyranosyl (1?3)}-s-D-arabinopyranoside have been isolated and their structures established on the basis of spectral and chemical studies.
