Drought Sensitivity of Slash Pine and Longleaf Pine Deduced by Tree Ring Analysis [PDF]
Annual tree rings give us the opportunity to investigate the adaptation of trees to climate and environmental changes over a long period of time. In particular, the physical characteristics of each ring (width and earlywood and late wood differentiation)

Retrospective Analysis of Wood Anatomical Traits Reveals a Recent Extension in Tree Cambial Activity in Two High-Elevation Conifers [PDF]
The study of xylogenesis or wood formation is a powerful, yet labor intensive monitoring approach to investigate intra-annual tree growth responses to environmental factors.

ABSTRACT With northern regions warming at twice the global rate, assessing the state of archaeological sites in these areas is critically important. In this study, we used a multimethod geophysical approach (ERT, GPR, and EMI) to characterize the current geocryological conditions of an Inuit archaeological site on South Aulatsivik Island (Labrador ...

A century of tree line changes in sub-Arctic Sweden shows local and regional variability and only a minor influence of 20th century climate warming [PDF]
Aim Models project that climate warming will cause the tree line to move to higher elevations in alpine areas and more northerly latitudes in Arctic environments.

ABSTRACT Ten timbers from the spire scaffold of Salisbury Cathedral were dated using a combination of ring‐width dendrochronology, stable oxygen isotopic dendrochronology and radiocarbon dating. Seven timbers were coeval and assigned a combined empirical felling date range of 1352–1378, which was further refined to 1351–1359 (OxCal 95.4%).

The importance of trees in non-forest landscapes has been the focus of only a few studies. However, these trees provide many important ecosystem services. In this study, we mapped and quantified these trees using Sentinel-2 (S2) and very high-resolution (

The assessment of present, past and future climatic variability in the americas from tree-line environments [PDF]
In this note we introduce one of 14 Collaborative Research Networks (CRN) funded by the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research. It was established in 1999 and involves 15 principal investigators from 13 institutions in Canada, USA, Mexico ...
