Climate variability and forest fires in central and south‐central Chile

open access: yesEcosphere, 2018
This paper evaluates the relationship between fire occurrence (number and burned area) and climate variability (precipitation and maximum temperatures) across central and south‐central Chile (32°–43° S) during recent decades (1976–2013).

DENDROCRONOLOGIA NA ANÁLISE DO CRESCIMENTO EM DIÂMETRO, VOLUME, BIOMASSA E DIÓXIDO DE CARBONO NO CERRADO [PDF]

open access: yesNativa, 2016

MASTREE+: Time-series of plant reproductive effort from six continents. [PDF]

open access: yesGlob Chang Biol, 2022
MASTREE+ is an open‐access data set that collates reproductive time‐series data from across the globe. It includes 73,828 georeferenced observations of annual reproduction (e.g. seed and fruit counts) in perennial plant populations, consisting of 5,971 population‐level time‐series from 974 species.

Understanding climate change impacts on biome and plant distributions in the Andes: Challenges and opportunities. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Biogeogr, 2022
Abstract Aim Climate change is expected to impact mountain biodiversity by shifting species ranges and the biomes they shape. The extent and regional variation in these impacts are still poorly understood, particularly in the highly biodiverse Andes. Regional syntheses of climate change impacts on vegetation are pivotal to identify and guide research ...

Adaptation potential of Neotropical montane oaks to drought events: Wood anatomy sensitivity in Quercus delgadoana and Quercus meavei

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 37, Issue 7, Page 2040-2055, July 2023., 2023
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Climate and local water availability are major evolutionary drivers of adaptive variation and plasticity in the hydraulic architecture of Tropical Montane Cloud Forest (TMCF) tree species.

Hydroclimate and ENSO Variability Recorded by Oxygen Isotopes From Tree Rings in the South American Altiplano

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 49, Issue 4, 28 February 2022., 2022
Abstract Hydroclimate variability in tropical South America is strongly regulated by the South American Summer Monsoon (SASM). However, past precipitation changes are poorly constrained due to limited observations and high‐resolution paleoproxies.

open access: yes, 2022
The tropical forests of South America have high biodiversity, however their extension and their characteristics make their conservation very complicated, this happens in all the countries that comprise it and Peru is no stranger to this reality, so ...
