The principal arboviral vector Aedes aegypti can develop in coastal brackish water field habitats (0.5–15 g/L salt) with larvae possessing thicker cuticles and greater resistance to the larvicide Temephos. Females emerging from brackish water‐developing preimaginal stages are now shown to have thicker and remodelled leg and abdominal cuticles and ...

Come together: Data sharing to support one health responses to vector‐borne disease threats
A One Health framework integrating diverse data across human, animal and environmental sectors is essential for effective surveillance and response is vital for responding to vector‐borne disease risks. Communities adopting global data standards, depositing data in shared repositories, and responsible data use can significantly improve VBD data ...

Larval indices, especially house infestation index (HI) and breteau index (BI), were significantly associated with temperature and precipitation, indicating that warmer and wetter conditions increase Aedes aegypti breeding‐site positivity. Adult indices, trap positivity index (TPI) and adult density index (ADI) showed no significant association with ...

The effect of temperature on oviposition activity is not uniform across time. Heat stress exerts delayed population‐level impacts. Moderate temperatures favour population development while both low and high temperatures impose constraints. The delayed negative effect of warm temperatures, peaking at 2–3 weeks rather than immediately.
