Hyperinflammation by Human Macrophages Induced by SARS‐CoV‐2 Anti‐Spike IgG Is Dependent on Glucose and Fatty Acid Metabolism

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 55, Issue 12, December 2025.
Severe COVID‐19 is associated with hyperinflammation driven by anti‐spike IgG immune complexes (ICs) contributing to macrophage hyperactivation, thrombosis, and tissue damage. This study shows that anti‐spike IgG ICs induce rapid metabolic reprogramming, specifically glycolysis, fatty acid synthesis, and the pentose phosphate pathway, which is ...

Advanced Electrochemical Genosensor for Zika Virus Detection in Biological Samples Based on Cysteamine‐Graphene Quantum Dots Bilayer

open access: yesElectroanalysis, Volume 37, Issue 12, December 2025.
An electrochemical biosensor for Zika virus (ZIKV) detection is described. A DNA probe was immobilized on a gold electrode. After hybridization with the target (ZIKV), safranin was used as an intercalating indicator. Detection was performed by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), where the current signal increases with the target concentration.

Modular Nanosensing Platforms for Tuberculosis and Beyond: Engineering Biomaterials Toward Cross‐Pathogen Diagnostic Universality

open access: yesMedComm – Biomaterials and Applications, Volume 4, Issue 4, December 2025.
Modular nanosensing platforms utilize nanomaterials and functionalized interfaces to amplify trace different pathogens (like tuberculosis) antigen capture, suppress matrix interference, and enable multiplex detection. Their portability and cost‐effectiveness support rapid screening in resource‐limited settings and real‐time monitoring, advancing high ...
