The faults serve as conduits for the rising and mixing of carbonate‐enriched fluids with thermal and meteoric CO2 inputs promoting travertine precipitation at the surface.

Earth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 49, Issue 4, Page 1428-1450, 30 March 2024.Eighteen samples for 10Be and 26Al were collected from rivers along the strike of an active fault with a strong lithological strength contrast in the footwall. A weak relationship between slip rate and erosion rate was observed but no trend between rock strength and erosion rate.
