A Laboratory Study on Open and Dense Graded Cold Asphalt Emulsion Mixtures for Surface Courses

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2023
Abstract Cold Asphalt Emulsion Mixture (CAEM) is considered as an eco-friendly asphalt mixture because it eliminates the emission. It is produced at ambient temperatures and reducing the requirement to heat aggregates and bitumen prior to mixing process, so it is good for energy saving in pavement construction.

The effect of crumb rubber in dense graded and open graded cold mixture asphalt

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2021
Abstract Recycling tires is one of the eco-friendly way for reducing environmental problems. Incorporating crumb rubber in asphalt mixtures is an alternative way for reusing the end-of-life tires in road construction. The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the cold mix asphalt incorporating crumb rubber as a substitute for a part ...

Exploring mechanical properties and cracking behavior of AC-13 and OGFC-16 aggregate-segregated asphalt mixtures

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
Aggregate segregation compromises the homogeneity of asphalt pavement, which diminishes the road performance of the asphalt mixture. The segregation behavior and damage mechanism of asphalt mixture are complex.

Influence of aggregate gradation on hma mixes stability

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Transport Infrastructure, 2015
The load transfer capacity of pavements is to a great extend influenced by aggregates. About 85% of the total volume of hot mix asphalt (HMA) mixtures consists of aggregates; thus, they are greatly influenced by aggregate properties like angularity ...
