PMatch: Paired Masked Image Modeling for Dense Geometric Matching

open access: yes2023 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), 2023
Dense geometric matching determines the dense pixel-wise correspondence between a source and support image corresponding to the same 3D structure. Prior works employ an encoder of transformer blocks to correlate the two-frame features. However, existing monocular pretraining tasks, e.g., image classification, and masked image modeling (MIM), can not ...

ASSESSMENT OF INFLUENCE OF IMAGE PROCESSING ON FULLY AUTOMATIC UAV PHOTOGRAMMETRY [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2019
Nowadays UAVs have been widely used for large scale surveying and mapping. Compared with traditional surveying techniques, UAV photogrammetry is more convenient, cost-effective, and responsive.

EpicFlow: Edge-Preserving Interpolation of Correspondences for Optical Flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We propose a novel approach for optical flow estimation , targeted at large displacements with significant oc-clusions. It consists of two steps: i) dense matching by edge-preserving interpolation from a sparse set of matches; ii) variational energy ...

Two-View Matching with View Synthesis Revisited [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Wide-baseline matching focussing on problems with extreme viewpoint change is considered. We introduce the use of view synthesis with affine-covariant detectors to solve such problems and show that matching with the Hessian-Affine or MSER detectors ...

Robust Multi-Resolution Satellite Image Registration Using Deep Feature Matching and Super Resolution Techniques

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This study evaluates the effectiveness of integrating a Residual Shifting (ResShift)-based deep learning super-resolution (SR) technique with the Robust Dense Feature Matching (RoMa) algorithm for high-precision inter-satellite image registration.

GEOMETRY-BASED REGULARISATION FOR DENSE IMAGE MATCHING VIA UNCERTAINTY-DRIVEN DEPTH PROPAGATION [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2020
In the present work, an uncertainty-driven geometry-based regularisation for the task of dense stereo matching is presented. The objective of the regularisation is the reduction of ambiguities in the depth reconstruction process, which exist due to the ...

End-to-end weakly-supervised semantic alignment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We tackle the task of semantic alignment where the goal is to compute dense semantic correspondence aligning two images depicting objects of the same category.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Highly Dense 3D Surface Generation Using Multi-image Matching [PDF]

open access: yesETRI Journal, 2012
This study presents an automatic matching method for generating a dense, accurate, and discontinuity-preserved digital surface model (DSM) using multiple images acquired by an aerial digital frame camera. The proposed method consists of two main procedures: area-based multi-image matching (AMIM) and stereo-pair epipolar line matching (SELM).

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
