Fundamentals on the spigot capacity of dense medium cyclones [PDF]
Abstract The capacity of dense medium cyclones is often restricted by the solids-carrying capacity of the underflow, referred to as spigot capacity. Cyclone manufacturers normally recommend the spigot capacity for a cyclone of a particular size; however, it is not clear how these capacities are determined and whether they can be increased.

Modelling the Multiphase Flow in Dense Medium Cyclones
Dense medium cyclone (DMC) is widely used in mineral industry to separate solids by density. It is simple in design but the flow pattern within it is complex due to the size and density distributions of the feed and process medium solids, and the turbulent vortex formed.

Features of near gravitational material tracers in a dense medium cyclone from PEPT [PDF]
Dense media cyclones are an integral part of circuits employed for coal processing, iron ore beneficiation, and recovery of diamonds. Many techniques have been applied in studying the separation performance of these devices including the use of different

Separation of Dolomite from a Lead-zinc Sulfide by Dense Medium
A lead-zinc sulfide is a reworked SEDEX deposit, in which the main gangue mineral is dolomite. About 40%~50% yield of flotation tailing was need to be stockpiled in tailing pond.

Flow characteristics and regime transitions in fluidization systems of Group C+ particles
Abstract Fine and ultrafine particles are attractive for fluidized bed reactors because their high surface area benefits catalytic processes, but their cohesive nature complicates regime characterization. Nanoparticle modulation improves the flowability of Group C powders, yet their bubbling to turbulent transition remains unclear.
