Contact sensitisers activate keratinocytes and induce cytotoxicity via Transient Receptor Potential Ankyrin 1 in allergic contact dermatitis

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) is a frequent inflammatory skin disease with limited therapeutic options. While neuronal Transient Receptor Potential Ankyrin 1 (TRPA1) has been implicated in ACD, the role of keratinocyte TRPA1 remains unclear.

Evaluation of Optical Filters for DWDM-Direct in Next Generation Optical Access

open access: yes
In past few years, the number of users to the Fibre-To-The-Home (FTTH) technology increased fast because of the great potentialities of broadband access. Due to this trend Gigabit Passive Optical Network (G-PON) and Gigabit-Ethernet-PON (GE-PON) has been

Ultra‐Low Loss Weakly Coupled Few‐Mode Hollow‐Core Anti‐Resonant Fiber Enabling Eight Channels via Differential Wall Thickness and Truncated Tubes

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 13, 13 July 2026.
A novel ultra‐low loss, weakly coupled few‐mode hollow‐core anti‐resonant fiber is realized through truncated tubes and differential wall thickness, which can support eight spatial modes as independent channels. The effective refractive index difference between adjacent modes is greater than 1.0 × 10−4, and the intrinsic loss of all target modes at ...

Chemical‐Assembled Macrophage‐Engaging Glypican‐3 × Signal Regulatory Protein‐α (SIRP‐α) Bispecific Antibody for Immunotherapy Against Liver Cancer

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
We developed a novel chemical strategy to generate a glypican‐3 × SIRP‐α bispecific antibody that simultaneously blocks the CD47 “don't eat me” signal, engages macrophages to target liver cancer cells for enhanced phagocytosis, and antigen presentation. This novel combination of targets demonstrates remarkable efficacy in vitro and in vivo.

Human Colitis‐on‐Chip Model Reveals Dual Roles of Butyrate in Epithelial and Macrophage Defense Against Candida albicans Tissue Invasion

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 37, 2 July 2026.
This study establishes a human immunocompetent colitis‐on‐chip model that mimics inflamed gut mucosa and enables quantitative analysis of Candida albicans tissue invasion under DSS‐induced injury. It reveals that microbiota‐derived butyrate simultaneously stabilizes epithelial junctions and reprograms macrophages via HDAC/NLRP3‐dependent mechanisms ...

1 Mbps coherent one-way QKD with dense wavelength division multiplexing and hardware key distillation [PDF]

open access: yes
We present the latest results obtained with a quantum cryptography prototype based on a coherent-one way quantum key distribution (QKD) scheme. To support its continuous high rate secret key generation we developed different low-noise single photon ...

Transponder for Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) optical communication systems

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper a CWDM bi-directional optical transponder is described. This transponder was built in the framework of the project SIRAC. The design options followed are detailed discussed.
