Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Self-consistent DFT+U method for real-space time-dependent density functional theory calculations
We implemented various DFT+U schemes, including the ACBN0 self-consistent density-functional version of the DFT+U method [Phys. Rev. X 5, 011006 (2015)] within the massively parallel real-space time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) code ...

This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Simultaneous Photoradiochemical Labeling of Antibodies for Immuno-Positron Emission Tomography
Summary: A method for the simultaneous (one-step) photochemical conjugation and 89Zr-radiolabeling of antibodies is introduced. A photoactivatable chelate based on the functionalization of desferrioxamine B with an arylazide moiety (DFO-ArN3, [1]) was ...

Van der Waals Density Functional for General Geometries
A scheme within density functional theory is proposed that provides a practical way to generalize to unrestricted geometries the method applied with some success to layered geometries [H. Rydberg, et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 91, 126402 (2003)].

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.
