Optimal local Hölder index for density states of superprocesses with (1+ β)-branching mechanism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
For $0 0$ holds: the density function is locally Hölder continuous if $d = 1$ and $\alpha > 1 + \beta$, but locally unbounded otherwise.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Density Forecasting: A Survey [PDF]

open access: yes
A density forecast of the realization of a random variable at some future time is an estimate of the probability distribution of the possible future values of that variable.

Influence of refractive index matching on the photon diffuse reflectance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Photon migration in a randomly inhomogeneous, highly scattering and absorbing semi-infinitemediumwith a plane boundary is considered by aMonte Carlo (MC) technique. The employed MC technique combines the statistical weight scheme and real photon paths

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Dietary Energy Density in Relation to Subsequent Changes of Weight and Waist Circumference in European Men and Women

open access: yes, 2009
Background - Experimental studies show that a reduction in dietary energy density (ED) is associated with reduced energy intake and body weight.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Forecasting the density of asset returns [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we introduce a transformation of the Edgeworth-Sargan series expansion of the Gaussian distribution, that we call Positive Edgeworth-Sargan (PES).
