Depletion of the RNA‐Editing Enzyme ADAR1 Invigorates the Antitumor Immunity of NK Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ADAR1 is upregulated in NK cells from melanoma patients, impairing their function. Its loss enhances NK cell tumor infiltration and cytotoxicity in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, ADAR1 deficiency destabilizes CD38 mRNA to reduce its expression, thereby increasing NK cell mobility and killing, which nominates it as a therapeutic target for NK cell ...

Organ‐Specific and Conserved Regulatory Logic Orchestrates Gene Expression in the Embryonic Mesothelium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrated multi‐omic profiling maps the gene‐regulatory landscape of the coelomic mesothelium across heart, lung, and pancreas. A cardiac‐restricted regulatory program is uncovered in which TBX20 activates heart mesothelial (epicardial) cis‐regulatory elements, while MAF emerges as a conserved regulator of mesothelial identity.

Discovery of an Adaptive Neuroimmune Response Driving Itch and Fast Tick Removal with Implications for Preventing Pathogen Transmission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Itch‐induced tick removal (IITR): An acquired neuroimmune mechanism, itch‐induced tick removal, develops after repeated tick exposure, mobilizing T cells and macrophages at the tick bite site to trigger a rapid scratching response that facilitates timely tick removal within a critical window that precedes the transmission of many tick‐borne pathogens ...

Multi‐Enzyme Mimetic Molybdenum Nitride Nanozymes Reshape Subgingival Microenvironment for Synergistic Periodontitis Therapy via ROS Regulation and Microbiome Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Periodontitis, a chronic inflammatory disease initiated and sustained by plaque microorganisms and host immune response, remains an intractable oral disease and a leading cause of tooth loss worldwide. Traditional mechanical debridement and adjunctive antibiotic or antiseptic therapy often shows limited efficacy due to the complex anatomical ...

Evaluation of the accuracy of Demirjian's method for estimating chronological age from dental age in Shiraz, Iran: Using geometric morphometrics method

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, 2019
Knowing the growth and developmental stages of a child or an adolescent allows for a comparison between their developmental and chronological age. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of dental age estimation by Demirjian's method and ...

Availability Of Dental Anomaly Phenotype In Individuals With Familial Adenomatous Polyposis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background: Mutations in the APC gene cause familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), an autosomal dominant colorectal cancer predisposition associated with the development of hundreds to thousands of adenomatous colorectal polyps beginning in childhood or ...

Distinct Immunomodulatory Strategies Guide Mesenchymal Stromal/Stem Cell‐Mediated Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bone regeneration by mesenchymal stem cells is strongly influenced by immune signals. This study shows that priming stem cells with regulatory immune cells or an inflammation‐resolving lipid molecule enhances bone formation through distinct immune pathways.
