Cementation of prosthetic restorations: from conventional cementation to dental bonding concept.
The Journal of craniofacial surgery (Print), 2011The cementation procedure of metal-free fixed partial dentures exhibits special characteristics about the porcelains and cementation agents, which turns the correct association between these materials necessary.

Bond Strength of Adhesive Composites to Dental Substrates
Journal of Prosthodontics, 1994PurposeThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the in vitro bond strength of adhesive and traditional composites to several materials that might be encountered in clinical practice.Materials and MethodsAn adhesive composite, an adhesive composite with a bonding agent, and a traditional composite with a bonding agent were bonded to enamel, dentin ...

The critical bond strength of orthodontic brackets bonded to dental glass–ceramics
Clinical Oral Investigations, 2019To evaluate the critical bond strength (σ) of ceramic and metal brackets to a lithium disilicate-based glass-ceramic.Two hundred and forty ceramic specimens (IPS e-max CAD) were randomly distributed in 12 experimental groups (n = 20). Two ceramic brackets (monocrystalline, BCm; and polycrystalline, BCp) and a metal bracket (BM) were bonded to glass ...

Dental adhesion review: Aging and stability of the bonded interface
Dental Materials, 2008Most of current dental adhesive systems show favorable immediate results in terms of retention and sealing of bonded interface, thereby counteracting polymerization shrinkage that affects resin-based restorative materials. Despite immediate efficacy, there are major concerns when dentin bonded interfaces are tested after aging even for short time ...

Calcium phosphate formation on the phosphorylated dental bonding agent in electrolyte solution.
Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, 2004The aim of the present study was to study the mineral formation on a phosphorylated dental bonding agent using a mineralization inductive solution. Clearfil Photobond, which contained phosphate monomer, was cured by photo-irradiation and heat treated ...

Ceramic bonding to a dental gold–titanium alloy
Biomaterials, 2002Investigations of the metal-ceramic bonding of the alloy Au98.2Ti1.7Ir0.1 (wt) in comparison with a well-approved traditional Au-Pt-Pd-based alloy were performed. Bond strength of both alloys, measured with a three-point flexure bond test, was in the same order of magnitude. Failure mode was different for both alloys.

Important Aspects Of Bonding Resin To Dental Ceramics
Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology, 2009The clinical success of resin bonding procedures for indirect ceramic restorations and ceramic repairs depends on the quality and durability of the bond between the resin and ceramic. The quality of this bond will depend on the bonding mechanisms that are controlled, in part, by the surface treatment that promotes micromechanical and chemical bonding ...

Resin Bonding To Oxide Ceramics For Dental Restorations
Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology, 2009Bonding to silica-based dental ceramics using etching techniques and silanization is well established, but for bonding of dental oxide ceramics with little or no silica no particular method is generally accepted. Therefore, the purpose of this review is to summarize the current knowledge on bonding to dental oxide ceramics.

Tensile Bond Strength of Dental Porcelain to Dental Composite Resins
1992The aim of the present study was to evaluate the in vitro tensile bond strength of specimens of porcelain bonded to dual curing dental composite using two organosilane materials: Scothcprime Ceramic Primer (3M, Co., St. Paul, Mn, USA) and Silanit (Vivadent, Schaan, Liecthstein). Bond stremgth was between 9.2 and 10.4 MPa.
