Susceptibility to dental caries

Australian Dental Journal, 1979
Abstract— —The role of the pulp and saliva in caries susceptibility and resistance was evaluated by a combination of endodontic treatment and desalivation. Evidence was presented that the pulp plays a major role in caries susceptibility. Pulpal activity is modified by a hormonal factor or factors of salivary gland origin.

FCN1 polymorphisms are not the markers of dental caries susceptibility in Polish children: a case-control study.

Oral Diseases, 2021
OBJECTIVE To examine the association of four FCN1 SNPs: -542G>A (rs10120023), -144C>A (rs10117466), +6658C>T (rs148649884) and +7895A>G (rs150625869) with dental caries in Polish children.

An association analysis for genetic factors for dental caries susceptibility in a cohort of Chinese children.

Oral Diseases, 2020
OBJECTIVE To comprehensively investigate the effects of 25 variants in 15 genes on dental caries susceptibility in a cohort of Chinese children. METHODS A total of 25 variants in 15 genes were genotyped with MassARRAY iPLEX system and analyzed in 265 ...

Susceptibility to Dental Caries in the Rat

Journal of Dental Research, 1939
It is apparent that several dietary factors cooperate in the production of experimental dental fissure caries in rats. The lesions are due primarily to the ingestion of particles of coarsely ground raw cereal, such as rice or corn, included in the diet from the time of weaning; but other dietary conditions influence the prevalence of caries in ...

Exposure to Metal Ions and Susceptibility to Dental Caries

Journal of Dental Education, 2001
Results from several epidemiologic studies have shown that there are large differences in the prevalence of dental caries from one region to another within the United States as well as in other countries. It has been postulated that the observed differences may be attributed in part at least to exposure to trace elements such as selenium, vanadium ...
