On the design of dental resin-based composites: A micromechanical approach
Acta Biomaterialia, 2008Adhesive resin-based restorative materials have the potential to considerably strengthen teeth and offer more economically viable alternatives to traditional materials such as gold, amalgam or ceramics. Other advantages are direct and immediate placement and the elimination of the use of mercury.

Cyclopolymerizable Monomers for Use in Dental Resin Composites
Journal of Dental Research, 1990The simple reaction of conventional monofunctional acrylate monomers with paraformaldehyde has yielded a new class of difunctional monomers. The unique proximity of the double bonds within these compounds allows a facile cyclopolymerization to incorporate a cyclic ether structure into the polymer backbone.

Resin Based Dental Composites — An Overview
1986The quest for a durable, esthetic, adhesive and biocompatible material with both good handling and setting qualities suitable for the restoration of lost or damaged tooth structure has long challenged dental material researchers. A significant step toward the realization of this goal was the development of resin based dental composites which overcame ...
