DENTAL IMPLANT

open access: yesThe Professional Medical Journal, 2018
Objectives: To measure the average bone width and bone height in the posterioredentulous spans in the mandible as well as to evaluate bone quality and anterior extensionof the Inferior alveolar nerve to assess possibility for dental implant placement. Study Design:Cross-sectional study.

Intravital Multimodal Imaging of Human Cortical Organoid Transplantation in a Mouse Model of Chronic Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multimodal intravital imaging platform enables longitudinal tracking of human cortical organoids transplanted into chronic stroke lesions. By combining surgical microscopy, MRI, bioluminescence imaging, and two‐photon fluorescence microscopy, the platform captures graft placement, viability dynamics, and cellular‐scale morphology in vivo, offering a ...

An Evaluation of the Peri-Implant Tissue in Patients Starting Antiresorptive Agent Treatment After Implant Placement: A Nested Case–Control Study

open access: yesMedicina
Background and Objectives: We wished to evaluate the effect of antiresorptive agents (ARAs) on peri-implant tissues and to examine the risk factors for peri-implant medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ).

Posterior single implants immediately loaded using one abutment at one time and temporary abutment in the posterior mandible without bone augmentation: A report on six-month outcomes data obtained from a prospective randomized controlled split-mouth clinical trial [PDF]

open access: yesVojnosanitetski Pregled
Background/Aim. Given that frequent manipulation of the abutment during immediate loading can have a negative impact on the surrounding peri-implant hard and soft tissues, the concept “one abutment at one time” (OAO) has been introduced and ...

Engineering Approaches to Modify Immunomodulatory Functions of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs): Tissue Regeneration and Clinical Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) show promise for treating immune‐related disorders through immunomodulation and tissue regeneration. This review gives a brief overview of current clinical approval of MSC therapies. It also discussed how bioengineering, including genetic modification, biomaterial delivery, extracellular vesicles, and iPSC‐derived MSCs,

Cigarette Smoke‐Induced Alveolar Macrophage Senescence via GEM/SIRT3‐Mediated Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cigarette smoke accelerates the aging of immune cells in the lung. By combining human single‐cell sequencing, cell culture, and mouse models, the authors show that the protein GEM drives mitochondrial damage and senescence in alveolar macrophages by suppressing SIRT3.

Oral Motion‐Powered Smart Dental Implant Abutment for In Situ Antibacterial and Cell Adhesion Through Piezoelectric Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We proposed a method based on the piezoelectric effect and fabricated an implant abutment on the basis of piezoelectric ceramic. Under physiological occlusal pressure, the oral motion‐powered smart dental implant abutments interacted with water and oxygen, promoting the formation of reactive oxygen species and achieving a synergistic and highly ...

A Fentanyl‐Responsive Microneedle Patch for Harm Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fentanyl‐responsive microneedle patch is developed as a self‐regulating overdose intervention that releases naloxone upon detecting fentanyl. The system employs aptamer‐functionalized nanoparticles embedded in a swellable polymer matrix to enable rapid, on‐demand drug delivery through the skin.

Friend, Not Foe: Lowered Tissue Reactivity to Long‐Term Polyimide Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The choice of optimal neural probe designs remains a major challenge in the field of neurotechnology. This study investigated the biocompatibility of several probe variations, including material, thickness, width, and implantation strategy. It highlights the clear advantage of soft polyimide probes over stiff silicon probes for better device ...
