Failures in Endosseous Dental Implants- A Literature review
Endosseous dental implants have become commonly used in clinical situations. Despite many advances in materials, techniques and implant design, the potential for clinical failure is a significant concern for both dentist and patient. A variety of factors can precipitate failure of an implant, including occlusal overloading, prepoperative or post ...

Clinical and Radiological Classification of the Jawbone Anatomy in Endosseous Dental Implant Treatment [PDF]
The purpose of present article was to review the classifications suggested for assessment of the jawbone anatomy, to evaluate the diagnostic possibilities of mandibular canal identification and risk of inferior alveolar nerve injury, aesthetic considerations in aesthetic zone, as well as to suggest new classification system of the jawbone anatomy in ...

ABSTRACT This preclinical, in vivo study aimed to histologically and histomorphometrically evaluate the effect of implant design features on bone healing during the early stages of osseointegration. Three different implant macrogeometries and surface treatments were evaluated: (1) trapezoidal threads with decompressing vertical chambers and blasted ...

ToF-SIMS Investigations on Dental Implant Materials and Adsorbed Protein Films [PDF]
In this work the two experimental dental implant materials FAT and FAW, made of fluoroapatite particles embedded in polymer matrices, and films of the proteins lysozyme, amylase and bovine serum albumin (BSA), adsorbed to the two dental implant materials, were investigated with time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) and the ...

SURGICAL CORRECTION OF ATROPHIC MAXILLA FOR INSERTION OF ENDOSSEOUS DENTAL IMPLANTS
Background. Alveolar process atrophy is a physiological process in edentulous patients that may heavily compromise the succes of dental prosthetic rehabilitation. This is particulary important for insertion of endosseous implants.

Neural Representation-Based Method for Metal-induced Artifact Reduction in Dental CBCT Imaging [PDF]
This study introduces a novel reconstruction method for dental cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), focusing on effectively reducing metal-induced artifacts commonly encountered in the presence of prevalent metallic implants. Despite significant progress in metal artifact reduction techniques, challenges persist owing to the intricate physical ...

ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of alveolar bone reconstruction simultaneous to implant removal due to peri‐implantitis. Material and Methods Partial or fully dentulous patients subjected to implant removal due to advanced peri‐implantitis (≥ 50% of bone loss) lesions and seeking to have the failed implant replaced for ...

MARformer: An Efficient Metal Artifact Reduction Transformer for Dental CBCT Images [PDF]
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) plays a key role in dental diagnosis and surgery. However, the metal teeth implants could bring annoying metal artifacts during the CBCT imaging process, interfering diagnosis and downstream processing such as tooth segmentation. In this paper, we develop an efficient Transformer to perform metal artifacts reduction

Implant Body Fracture Due to Fatigue in a Maxillary Implant‐Retained Overdenture Treatment
The aim of this study was to determine the causes of fatigue and implant failures in an implant‐retained overdenture case. One out of four implants portrayed inadequate osseointegration during healing abutment placement, and one was fractured from the middle to the apical third after 1 year of denture use.
