Evaluation of microleakage under orthodontic brackets bonded with nanocomposites

open access: yesContemporary Clinical Dentistry, 2018
Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the microleakage value under orthodontic brackets bonded with a nano-filled composite and to compare the results with a conventional adhesive using two different bonding systems.

Effect of different separated nickel–titanium rotary instruments on apical microleakage: An in vitro study

open access: yesSaudi Endodontic Journal, 2022
Introduction: Endodontic instrument separation is one of the iatrogenic errors which may affect the outcome of treatment. The present in vitro study was aimed to investigate the effect of different cross-sectional designs of separated nickel–titanium (Ni-

Effect of the Gap between Cemented Posts and Remaining Gutta-Percha on the Clinical Outcome of Endodontically Treated Teeth Managed by Undergraduate Dental Students: A Prospective Study with 4 Years of Follow-Up

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
It is common to detect a gap between the apical portion of the post and the most coronal part of gutta-percha in a root canal during post and core treatment in endodontically treated teeth.

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Effect of diode laser and light-emitting diode (LED) activated bleaching with 35% hydrogen peroxide on microleakage of class-V composite restorations: An in vitro study

open access: yesCaspian journal of dental research, 2022
Introduction: Residual oxygen-free radicals of bleaching agents before composite restorations can increase microleakage in enamel and dentin margins, and also various bleaching techniques are being developed using light sources.

Microleakage of a Self-Adhesive Flowable Composite, a Self-Adhesive Fissure Sealant and a Conventional Fissure Sealant in Permanent Teeth with/without Saliva Contamination

open access: yesFrontiers in Dentistry, 2019
Objectives: Application of fissure sealants is a practical method for prevention of occlusal pit and fissure caries. Microleakage is an important factor affecting the success of fissure sealant treatment.

Mitochondrial DNA leakage exacerbates odontoblast inflammation through gasdermin D-mediated pyroptosis

open access: yesCell Death Discovery, 2021
Alleviating odontoblast inflammation is crucial to control the progression of pulpitis. Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) is a vital driver of inflammation when it leaks from mitochondria of inflamed odontoblasts into the cytosol.
