3D Printed Dental Models A comparative analysis

open access: yesMateriale plastice, 2019
The aim of this study is to compare two different methods used for obtaining printed dental models -intraoral scanning and extraoral scanning; the comparative analysis was made in correlation to the accuracy of the traditional plaster cast model.

Comparison of Dental Stone Models and Their 3D Printed Acrylic Replicas for the Accuracy and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesMaterials, 2020
This study was conducted to test possibilities of application of 3D printed dental models (DMs) in terms of their accuracy and physical properties. In this work, stone models of mandibles were cast from alginate impressions of 10 patients and scanned in ...

Loss of Stat3 in Prx1+ Progenitors Impairs Molar Root Development

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Stat3 critically regulates mandibular first molar and alveolar bone morphogenesis. Conditional ablation of Stat3 disrupts the osteogenic capacity of Prx1+ mesenchymal progenitors, as evidenced across in vivo and in vitro models. Abstract Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3 (Stat3) acts as a central transcriptional modulator coordinating ...

Graphene–Catechol Dental Sealant: Antibacterial and Mechanical Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents dental sealants made with graphene and L‐DOPA‐modified graphene. L‐DOPA enhances graphene dispersion, improving sealant properties. The material shows antibacterial activity against S. mutans and L. casei, along with high strength and elasticity.

Comparative Evaluation of Digitization of Diagnostic Dental Cast (Plaster) Models Using Different Scanning Technologies

open access: yesDental journal, 2020
Rapidly developing digital dental technologies have substantially simplified the documentation of plaster dental models. The large variety of available scanners with varying degrees of accuracy and cost, however, makes the purchase decision difficult ...

Effect of Annealing Temperature on Microstructure and Dry‐Sliding Behavior of Powder Bed Fusion–Laser Beam Ti6Al2Sn4Zr6Mo Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Heat treatment parameters critically affect the wear resistance of powder bed fusion–laser beam (PBF‐LB)‐produced Ti–6Al–2Sn–4Zr–6Mo alloy. This study found that optimizing annealing temperature allows to obtain a tailored microstructure, which enhances the dry‐sliding behavior by forming a stable and functional mechanically mixed layer (MML), ensuring

Effectiveness of early intervention with palatal expansion versus late orthodontic treatment for correcting maxillary crowding

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences
Background: Maxillary crowding is a common orthodontic issue that can impact a patient's oral health and overall well-being. The timing of orthodontic treatment plays a crucial role in achieving optimal results. Materials and Methods: Thirty patients who

Replication of Known Dental Characteristics in Porcine Skin: Emerging Technologies for the Imaging Specialist [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This study demonstrates that it is sometimes possible to replicate patterns of human teeth in pig skin and determine scientifically that a given injury pattern (bite mark) correlates with the dentitions of a very small proportion of a population dataset,
