A model for the corrosion behavior of dental amalgams

Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, 1989
AbstractAt high frequencies, electrochemical impedance behavior for corroding dental amalgams cannot be interpreted in terms of a simple Randles equivalent circuit. This may often be ascribed to the imperfect cell geometry resulting in a nonuniform current distribution.

Digital Dental Model Analysis

2009
This paper is to introduce dental model analysis software with facilitating functions to allow direct dental measurement along with simulation after dental alignment and extraction. Model analysis is one of the orthodontic analyses to assess dental alignment and dental space whether the teeth are at the appropriated positions and space for orthodontic ...

Phenomenological model of creep of dental amalgam

Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, 1983
SummaryEarlier work revealed that creep of a particular dental amalgam can be described by the model F(t)=F0 exp (t/t0)m. Here F(t) is the creep compliance at time t, whereas F0, t0 and m are constants of the model. In the previous study only three alloys were used. It was the aim of this study to investigate the factor alloy more thoroughly.

A model of temperature transients in dental implants

Biomaterials, 2001
Dental implants provide a continuous interface between the oral environment and the deep core structures of the jaws. Implants and trans-mucosal superstructures are primarily metal and heat conduction occurs readily. A hypothetical heat conduction model is investigated to determine the ranges of temperature gradients that might occur in implants.

Global biomechanical model for dental implants

Journal of Biomechanics, 2011
The osseointegration of titanium dental implants is a complex process and there is a need for systematization of the factors influencing anchoring of implant. A common way of analyzing the strength of the fixation in bone is by measuring the torque required to remove the implants after healing.

Visualization and Modelling in Dental Implantology

2009
Intraoperative transfer of the implant and prosthesis planning in dentistry is facilitated by drilling templates or active, image-guided navigation. Minimum invasion concept of surgical interaction means high clinical precision with immediate load of prosthesis.

3D modelling to support dental surgery

2012
In a previous work, we developed a general purpose framework to support the three-dimensional reconstruction, rendering and processing of biomedical images, 3D Bio-IPF. In this paper we present a structured component of 3D Bio-IPF, the plug-in Implant, to model customised dental implants on a three-dimensional representation of the oral cavity derived ...

Developments in dental plaque pH modelling

Journal of Dentistry, 2005
The objectives of this review were to give a comprehensive account of the methods used to determine dental plaque pH over the last 50 years, to review how these methods have been used in dental cariology research and to give an update as to how dental plaque pH studies might be developed in the future.Published, referred papers and abstracts of ...
