A user-oriented dental care model

Computers in Biology and Medicine, 1978
Abstract This paper discusses a computer oriented model of dental programs. The two major concepts incorporated into the model are the personnel involved in providing care and the type of care being provided. For user specified categories of service and various personnel configurations the model estimates personnel requirements, in terms of time and ...

The Role of Microbiology in Models of Dental Caries

Advances in Dental Research, 1995
Models of dental caries (laboratory, animal, and human in situ models) vary markedly in their microbiological complexity. Laboratory models range from mono-cultures of cariogenic species providing an acidic challenge to enamel, to the development of diverse mixed cultures growing on a habitat-simulating medium in an artificial mouth or chemostat.

Biofilm Models for the Evaluation of Dental Treatment

2020
When analyzing the activity of antimicrobial agents, it should be considered that microorganisms mainly occur in biofilms. Data obtained for planktonic bacteria cannot be transferred non-critically to biofilms. Biofilm models should consider both the relevant microorganisms and the conditions present in the environment.
