Inhibition of Ferroptosis Delays Aging and Extends Healthspan Across Multiple Species

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies ferroptosis as a key driver of cellular senescence, with its inhibition delaying aging and extending healthspan across species. During senescence, ferroptosis worsens, increasing oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation, which accelerate aging.

Annexin A3 Represses Endothelial Permeability and Inflammation During Sepsis via Actin Cytoskeleton Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Annexin A3 (ANXA3) plays an endogenous protective role in endothelial dysfunction in sepsis by stabilizing the actin cytoskeleton, modulating cell permeability, and inhibiting pATF2/CD62E inflammatory signaling. Abstract Increased endothelial permeability and a dysregulated inflammatory response play key roles in organ damage in sepsis.

Inhalable Polymeric Nanoparticle Containing Triphenylphosphanium Bromide‐modified Sonosensitizer for Enhanced Therapy of Acute Bacterial Pneumonia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bacterial pneumonia is the sixth leading cause of death. In this study, an inhalable polymeric nanoparticle NPFCPS‐P is developed, which under US stimulation showed high efficacy in the treatment of acute bacterial pneumonia. This nanoplatform would be much less prone to select bacterial resistance and represented a promising measure for antibiotics ...

Contamination of Dental Scaler Waterlines with Legionella Pneumophila, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and Gram Positive Cocci

open access: yesJournal of Islamic Dental Association of Iran, 2015
Background and Aim: Dental staff are exposed to aerosols. Water supply of dental units has insignificant bacterial count but the exiting water in the waterlines has over 100,000 microorganisms per milliliter.

Masked Latent Transformer with the Random Masking Ratio to Advance the Diagnosis of Dental Fluorosis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Dental fluorosis is a chronic disease caused by long-term overconsumption of fluoride, which leads to changes in the appearance of tooth enamel. It is an important basis for early non-invasive diagnosis of endemic fluorosis. However, even dental professionals may not be able to accurately distinguish dental fluorosis and its severity based on tooth ...

Manipulation of Oxygen Tension in Damaged Regions via Hypoxia‐Induced IPN Hydrogel Microspheres for Intervertebral Disc Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel interpenetrating network hydrogel microsphere (NSC‐Exos@HIMS) is developed to manipulate oxygen tension in damaged regions and recruit endogenous stem cells. In vitro and in vivo results show that NSC‐Exos@HIMS maintains the hypoxia microenvironment for up to 5 days, which triggers nucleus pulposus cell‐like differentiation and enhanced ECM ...
