The Dental-Operating Microscope and Its Slow Acceptance
This article presents a review of the history of the dental-operating microscope and how it experienced slow acceptance. Following its introduction in 1982, it wasn't until 1997 that microscopy training became manditory for Advanced Specialty Education Programs in Endodontics.

The role of a dental operating microscope in improved nonsurgical treatment of “calcified” canals
Three cases illustrating successful nonsurgical treatment of "calcified" canals are presented. Careful round bur drilling through dense calcified deposits in the pulp chamber and into the canal may uncover a treatable apical canal remnant. The dental operating microscope (Dentiscope) is an invaluable aid.
