Age‐Related Complement C3 Drives Memory Impairments and Associated Neuropathologies in a Mouse Model

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Age‐related complement C3 elevation induces memory impairments and neuropathology by dysregulating astrocytic insulin signaling and triggering mitochondrial dysfunction. Critically, antibody blockade of C3 in mouse brain tissue effectively reversed learning and memory deficits in mice, demonstrating that targeting C3 is a promising therapeutic strategy.

Impaired Cytokine Secretion Contributes to Age‐Dependent Immune Dysfunction in SARS Coronavirus Response and Is Restored by Young CD11b‐Positive Cell Transfer

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Aged CD11b+ cells exhibit impaired IRF7 activation and reduced SNARE protein expression, leading to delayed interferon responses and diminished cytokine secretion. These dual deficits may contribute to the heightened susceptibility of older individuals to severe outcomes following SARS‐CoV infection.

Artificial Intelligence in Australian Dental and General Healthcare: A Scoping Review

open access: yesAustralian Dental Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This review contextualises the role of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare within an Australian healthcare regulatory and ethical framework. Four online databases (PubMed, Scopus, CINAHL and Web of Science) were searched for peer‐reviewed publications that addressed at least two of the three topics: (1) the current ...

Epithelial Memory After Respiratory Viral Infection in Mice Results in Prolonged Enhancement of Antigen Presentation

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
RSV infection induces lasting epigenetic and transcriptional changes in LECs, upregulating MHC‐I and MHC‐II, further amplified by LPS exposure. This is accompanied by increased antigen uptake, processing, and presentation. These persistent alterations may influence immune responses, potentially impacting both immunity to infection and respiratory ...
