This technique article describes the rescue of an existing implant-supported fixed complete prosthesis after the failure of a supporting implant. To achieve this, a system able to rescue the fixed prosthesis after placement of a new implant was used, and the protocol for performing this procedure is described.

AbstractThe rehabilitation of edentulous maxillae is a complex procedure due to the involvement of esthetic and functional requirements. A trial maxillary denture can be used to identify the need for adequate upper lip support when replacing removable complete dentures by implant‐fixed dental prostheses.

Intraoral scanning and dental photogrammetry for full‐arch implant‐supported prosthesis: A technique
Clinical Advances in Periodontics, 2023AbstractObjectiveTo introduce a novel digital workflow to replace a terminal or a complete edentulous arch with a complete‐arch implant‐supported fixed prosthesis.Clinical ConsiderationsA novel fully digital protocol provides an interim and definitive prosthesis by integrating extraoral dental photogrammetry with intraoral scanners.ConclusionsThe ...

ABSTRACT Purpose: The extraction of teeth results in loss of periodontal receptors which are essential for oral-sensory functions. Osseointegrated implants have also shown to perceive signals, and this phenomenon is termed as osseoperception.

This clinical report describes an unusual situation of nasal discharge that was initially considered to be caused by a leaking obturator prosthesis in a partially repaired cleft palate patient. Ultimately, the diagnosis was rhinorrhea induced by the loading of dental implants that supported the obturator. The differential diagnoses of nasal irritation,

Screw retained vs. cement retained implant‐supported fixed dental prosthesis
Periodontology 2000, 2016AbstractA fixed dental prosthesis can be secured to an endosseous implant via cementation (using a provisional or definitive cement) on an implant abutment that is screw retained to the implant or directly in the implant via screw retention. The clinical decision as to which retention system best suits the individual patient depends on several factors.

AbstractWhen fabricating a maxillary full‐arch implant‐supported fixed dental prosthesis, it is often challenging to systematically reduce alveolar bone to create prosthetic space and hide the prosthesis‐tissue junction. This article presents a digital technique that allows for precise bone reduction while simultaneously placing implants and interim ...

Mandibular implant-supported fixed dental prosthesis with a modified design: A clinical report
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 2014This clinical report describes the rehabilitation of a patient with a mandibular implant-supported fixed dental prosthesis. Because of the limited restorative space available in the posterior mandible and in considering the higher wear rate of acrylic resin in comparison with titanium when it opposes metal ceramic restorations, the treatment used a ...

Importance of Prototype Use for Implant-Supported Complete Fixed Dental Prosthesis (ICFDP).
Compendium of continuing education in dentistry (Jamesburg, N.J. : 1995), 2018Restorative material options for implant-supported complete fixed dental prostheses (ICFDP) have progressed from traditional metal-acrylic or metal-ceramic combinations to today's monolithic zirconia or high-performance polymer designs. To avoid potential errors that may be introduced into the restorative process in the interim phase and to provide a ...

Worn denture teeth of a full‐arch implant‐supported fixed dental prosthesis: A technique to restore
Journal of Prosthodontics, 2023AbstractWorn denture teeth continue to be a significant complication with implant‐supported prostheses. This article discusses a case report that used an intraoral scanning system to restore an existing maxillary implant‐supported prosthesis with significant posterior occlusal wear. IPS e.max (Ivoclar Vivadent, Schaan, Liechtenstein) restorations were
