The article describes the treatment and 1 year follow-up of a patient with Sjogren syndrome, treated with 6 intraforaminal mandibular implants with delayed loading and an implant-retained fixed prosthesis. The maxillary arch has been treated with a complete denture. This made an enormous difference in comfort and function for the patient.

Implant-Supported Prosthesis Misalignment Related to the Dental Arch: A 14-Year Clinical Follow-up
Journal of Oral Implantology, 2012The purpose of this study was to warn the dental community about a possible problem in function with partial implant–supported prostheses used for long periods. The misalignment between natural teeth and the implant-supported prosthesis on teeth 11 and 12, observed in a 14-year clinical follow-up, illustrates the fact.

Multiscale Bone Remodeling Prediction for Fully Porous-Coated (FPC) Dental Implant Supported Prosthesis [PDF]
This paper aims at providing a preliminary understanding in biomechanics with respect to the effect of FPC dental implants on bone remodelling. 2D multi-scale finite element models are created for a typical dental implantation setting. Under a certain mastication force (<200N), a global response from a macro-scale model (without considering coated ...

To investigate the physical and mechanical behaviors of polyether ether ketone (PEEK) before and after thermocycling, as well as its potential use as a more durable prosthetic component for implant-supported and -retained removable dental prostheses (I-RDPs).Roughness and surface hardness were evaluated in specimens obtained using the subtractive ...

An implant screw fracture is one of the common problems associated with the implant components. In some situations, it may not be possible to retrieve the fractured implant screws. As a result, clinicians either remove the implant or the implant may need to be covered over with soft tissue. The salvage of an implant with a nonretrievable screw fragment
