The Use of Mechanical Interlock in Dental Prosthesis
2008Good long term outcomes in prosthetic dentistry depends on the stability of its abutment-implant construct. One of the abutment designs normally used is a cylindrical taper where interference fit is achieved on large contact pressure and frictional resistance at the interface. Other designs include the screw and a combination of screw and taper.

Electrocoagulation and hazardous damage to a dental prosthesis
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 2006We report the case of 50-year-old patient who experienced minor damage to a dental prosthesis after undergoing bipolar electrocoagualtion during micrographic surgery for scirrhous basal cell carcinoma of the cheek. The melting defect in the covering resin of the prosthesis was caused by heating through a channeling effect as the prosthesis served as an

Preventive dental prosthesis for the patient with bulimia
Special Care in Dentistry, 1987ABSTRACTBulimia is a distinct diagnostic eating disorder with its most noted manifestation being the rapid ingestion of large quantities of food followed by its elimination through the mouth. Because of the dental implications of highly acidic stomach contents chronically being regurgitated, the dentist is in a unique position to help identify the ...

Collision Free Design of Dental Prosthesis
2014This research project presents the construction of a Dental Virtual Articulator that permits the design of collision-free geometry on dental prostheses. Thanks to this articulator kinematic analysis can be taken into account in the design of dental prostheses. This is an improvement of the utmost importance in this field.

The Ellipse of Elasticity Applied to a Dental Prosthesis
1991The early elastic theories of Culmann and associated workers has been reviewed with particular reference to beam bending. The theory allows an analytical and geometric description of the elastic deformation of beams of various geometries under a variety of loading conditions.
