Effect of buccal part designs of polyamide resin partial removable dental prosthesis on retentive force

Journal of Prosthodontic Research, 2011
To identify buccal design criteria for retainer on polyamide resin removable partial dentures.A left upper distal extension model was used for this study. Undercut was given on the buccal side of first and second premolars. Four different retainer designs were created. Undercuts of 0.5 and 0.75 mm were used.

[Retention of Pt-Co magnet for dental prosthesis].

Iyo Kizai Kenkyujo hokoku. Reports of the Institute for Medical and Dental Engineering, Tokyo Medical and Dental University, 1991
Though Pt-Co magnet is inferior to rare-earth magnet in magnetic properties, the magnet is much superior to the corrosional resistances in oral fluids. The purpose of this investigation was to determined the retentive characteristics of Pt-Co magnet. The break away force between the magnet and XM27 stainless steel keeper were measured. Use of mini dental implants as retentive elements for complete removable prosthesis

2010
Use of dental implants of smaller diameters in various forms has been present for almost 20 years. In general, these implants are 2.75-3.30 mm in diameter, and they are frequently used in cases of limited bone volume. Mini dental implants (MDIs) are even smaller, with diameters ranging from just 1.8 to 2.4 mm.
