Changes in the Fine Structure of the Human Dental Pulp Subsequent to Carious Exposure
Journal of Oral Pathology & Medicine, 1977Abstract Sections of human pulp tissue taken from the region of a carious exposure in four young patients each having a clinical history of spontaneous dental pain were examined with the electron microscope. All the tissues examined exhibited a generalized edema, and an infiltration with lymphocytes, plasma cells, polymorphonuclear leukocytes and ...

For dental treatment, dentin regeneration is required after a tooth injury with dental pulp exposure. The effects of the water-soluble matrix (WSM) extracted from the nacreous layer of the bivalve Pinctada maxima on human dental pulp cells in vitro were challenging and useful for clinical application. The biological activity of the STRO-1-positive human

Summary. The maxillary molar pulps of gnotobiotic rats mono‐infected with a strain of Streptococcus mutans and maintained on a high sugar diet, were mechanically exposed and left open to the oral environment. No evidence of inflammatory cell infiltration of pulp tissue apart from superficial cells was observed.

Dental pulp is richly innervated with neurons containing calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) or substance P (SP). Prior studies have demonstrated that inflammation alters these pulpal neuropeptides. In this study, we used a radioimmunoassay to evaluate the specificity of this response and the contribution of axonal transport.

Moderate alcohol consumption has health benefits of adults, while excessive alcohol has poisonous effects on numerous different organs. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms of this phenomenon are still largely unclear yet. Human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSCs) have been used as models to investigate the effect of alcohol (EtOH) on gene ...

An experimental discoloration-free calcium aluminosilicate cement has been developed with the intention of maximizing the beneficial attributes of tricalcium silicate cements and calcium aluminate cements. The present study examined the effects of this experimental cement (Quick-Set2) on the mineralogenic characteristics of osteogenic lineage-committed

The first aim of the present study was to determine whether depletion of endogenous nerve growth factor (NGF) during early postnatal development results in a long-term deficit in the number of trigeminal ganglion cells and axons projecting to the molar pulp.

to assess the impact of universal adhesives, cured with single-peak and polywave LEDs, on the metabolic activity and cytokine release of human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSCs). In addition, analyze the degree of conversion (DC) of the adhesives cured with the different LEDs.Discs (5 mm diameter, 1 mm thick) were prepared using three universal adhesives:
