Dental Pulp Cells for Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell Banking

Journal of Dental Research, 2010
Defined sets of transcriptional factors can reprogram human somatic cells to induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells. However, many types of human cells are not easily accessible to minimally invasive procedures. Here we evaluated dental pulp cells (DPCs) as an optimal source of iPS cells, since they are easily obtained from extracted teeth and can be ...

Swine Dental Pulp Stem Cells Inhibit T-Cell Proliferation

Transplantation Proceedings, 2011
Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) hold great promise for tooth regeneration and dental diseases. To expand the source of DPSCs and explore the feasibility of allogeneic usefulness of DPSCs, we investigated its immunogenicity and its immunomodulatory effects on T lymphocytes. The results showed that DPSCs failed to stimulate allogeneic T-cell proliferation.

Dental Pulp Stem Cells: What’s New?

2017
Since the discovery of dental pulp stem cells at the beginning of this century, there has been a rapid escalation of published reports describing the different stem/progenitor cells types derived from the oral cavity, the development of novel carrier biomaterials/scaffolds and bioengineering strategies for endodontic regenerative medicine. This chapter

EFFECT OF SOMATOSTATIN ON DENTAL PULP STEM CELLS.

Journal of biological regulators and homeostatic agents, 2015
Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) are multipotent stem cells with the potential to differentiate into various cell types. For this reason, they have been proposed as an alternative source for mesenchymal stem cells. Somatostatin is a peptide hormone with an inhibitory effect on several endogenous hormones.

Dental Stem Cells for Pulp Regeneration

2016
The management of pathological conditions of the dental pulp is mainly based on the disinfection of root canal system followed by the replacement of the infected or inflamed pulp tissues by inert materials. In immature teeth, the routine root canal treatment often limits the completion of root formation and protection against external root resorption ...

Stem Cells of the Dental Pulp

2014
Dental Pulp Stem Cells (DPSCs) can be found within the cell rich zone of dental pulp. These stem cells, under specific stimuli, differentiate into many cell types which have wide therapeutic applications.   The dental stem cells are derived from both deciduous and permanent teeth.
