Dental Vitality Tests and Pulp Status

The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1973
Clinical observations were made on 25 anterior teeth that had been traumatized and did not respond to the conventional vitality tests. Examination of the pulp chambers revealed that all the teeth had vital pulps. Radiographs taken at various times after the trauma showed narrowing of root canals.

A laboratory study to test the responses of human dental pulp stem cells to extracts from three dental pulp capping biomaterials

International Endodontic Journal, 2021
AbstractAimThis laboratory study aimed to investigate the effects of three endodontic biomaterials; MTA‐HP, iRoot‐BP‐Plus and ACTIVA on the proliferation, adhesion and osteogenic differentiation of human Dental Pulp Stem Cells (hDPSCs).MethodologyThe hDPSCs were isolated from the dental pulps of 21 patients scheduled for surgical extraction of their ...

Electrical dental pulp testing. Defining parameters for proper instrumentation

IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Magazine, 1997
The use of an electric pulp tester for quantitative measurement of the threshold excitation is justified only if its parameters meet the following specifications: rectangular stimulation pulse of 10 ms minimum duration; current-stabilized output with automatic increase of the intensity and peak current amplitude display; high output resistance of at ...

Effects of thermal vitality tests on human dental pulp

Journal of Endodontics, 1988
Experiments were conducted to determine the effects of thermal pulp testing agents on the human dental pulp. Histological evaluation of the pulps of premolar teeth to which heated gutta-percha had been applied for up to 10 s revealed no evidence of injury.

Use of dental instruments for bridging during electric pulp testing

Journal of Endodontics, 1992
It has been suggested that dental instruments can be used as bridging instruments to facilitate electric pulp testing of teeth with extensive restorations. This study reports a clinical investigation to evaluate the effectiveness of this procedure. One hundred seventeen vital teeth in 20 volunteers were tested.
