Dental materials for posterior restorations

Dental Traumatology, 1992
Abstract Assessment of the quality of dental restorations by the Ryge system is described. Generally, the quality of dental restorations is shown to be dependent on the technique sensitivity of the restorative material as well as the skill and experience of the dentist.

Dental Restorations Using Titanium Osseointegrated Dental Implants

AORN Journal, 1995
ABSTRACTDental implantology (ie, the science of replacing teeth) has evolved from the use of crude, unstable, natural materials to the use of titanium osseointegrated dental implants and sophisticated prosthetic appliances. Dental prosthetics are used in an increasing number of routine dental restorations.

Apparent colour of dental restorations

Pigment & Resin Technology, 1972
When tooth substance has been lost either by decay or accidental trauma it should be restored aesthetically and functionally to maintain the patient's oral health. Restorative procedures involve removing caries (decayed tooth substance) of the hard outer enamel and softer inner dentine layer.

Improved Dental Restorative Systems

Journal of Dental Research, 1968
A mechanical test procedure with a deviation of ± 5% was developed for determining the efficacy of experimental dental restorations. The presence of polymer liner and silane in the preparation greatly improved the shear values obtained in these specimens and also enhanced the moisture and temperature resistance of the specimens.

Wear of Dental Restorative Resins

1981
The wear of dental composite restorative materials observed clinically in anterior and posterior teeth may be caused by abrasion, sliding, chemical erosion, or some combination of these mechanisms. This paper reviews experimental methodology for the study of wear of dental composite materials in vitro and in vivo.

Glass-ionomer dental restoratives

Progress in Polymer Science, 2001
Abstract The history and chemistry of conventional (chemically cured) and visible light-cured (VLC) glass polyalkeonates (glass-ionomers) is reviewed. The synthesis of new acrylic acid copolymers, containing amino acid residues, derived from amino acid based acrylamides or methacrylmides, and N-vinylpyrrolidone, is described, along with the use of ...
