Microfluidic Nano‐Assembly of Red‐Blood‐Cell (RBC) Lipids and Components for Engineering Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Engineered red blood cell‐derived extracellular vesicles (eRBCEVs) are synthesized via controlled microfluidic assembly from native RBC lipids, enabling tunable encapsulation of proteins, nucleic acids, nanoparticles, and viral vectors. The platform demonstrates reproducible nanoscale architecture, preserved membrane composition, and functional cargo ...

Fatigue Design of Dental Implant Assemblies: A Nominal Stress Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Fatigue is the most common mechanical failure type in dental implants. ISO 14801 standardizes fatigue testing of dental implants, providing the load-life curve which is most useful for comparing the fatigue behavior of different dental implant designs ...

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...

Biomimetic Vascular Scaffold with Seamless Electrospun Aligned Nanofiber Conduit and 3D‐Printed Coil Reinforcement

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a new fabrication method that overcomes the current limitation of tubular gap electrospinning. We successfully fabricated a seamless hollow tube with fibers aligned along the longitudinal axis in diameters as small as 300 µm, and then reinforced it using 4‐axis 3D printing.

Oxidative Stress Gene Expression During Human Healthy Dental Pulp Development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the gene expression of i-NOS in connection with oxidative stress and the network of antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT, GR and GPX) in order to highlight the possible role of Nitric Oxide (NO) in control ...

Biomechanical analysis of stress distribution and failure risk in mandibular incisors restored with resin-bonded fixed partial dentures using CAD/CAM materials and restoration designs

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology
BackgroundComputer-aided design/manufacturing (CAD/CAM) materials are widely used in resin-bonded fixed partial dentures (RBFPDs), but their suitability across different designs has not been fully assessed. This study compares the stress distribution and

Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...
