Sicca syndrome and silicoproteinosis in a dental technician
European Respiratory Journal, 1997Secondary sicca syndrome has been described in silicotic and exposed nonpneumoconiotic individuals. Systemic autoimmune pathogenic mechanisms have been thought to be responsible. Salivary gland mineral deposition has not so far been implicated.

American Review of Respiratory Disease, 1993Workers involved in the manufacture of dental prostheses are exposed to a number of potentially harmful substances capable of inducing lung disease. In this report, we describe a dental laboratory technician who developed chronic beryllium disease as a result of exposure in the workplace.
