Dental treatment of the elderly inpatient

A study of the oral status of 138 patients in two geriatric hospitals was carried out. The results, similar to those of other surveys, disclosed a great deal of neglect, much of which could be corrected by simple dental treatment. Dental care should become a routine health measure for all elderly inpatients as part of their general hospital treatment.
