Microleakage of Dentin Adhesive Systems
Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, 1991Five different dentin adhesives were evaluated under various experimental conditions (using different restorative materials, placement techniques, and specimen storage). A silver‐staining technique was used to detect microleakage. Pentra Bond II was less effective than Tenure in prevention of marginal leakage, but similar to Scotchbond 2 and Gluma.

Dentin/Adhesive Interface in Teeth
2012Clinical studies have demonstrated an alarmingly high failure rate for posterior composite dental restorations. The premature failure of moderate-to-large composite restorations can be traced to a breakdown of the bond at the tooth surface/composite material interface and increased levels of cariogenic bacteria at the perimeter of these materials.

Human dentin and the dentin-resin adhesive interface
Acta Materialia, 1998Dentin, the inner hard tissue of teeth, is a complex hydrated composite and forms the substrate for much of restorative dentistry. Current efforts to improve restorative and preventive dentistry involve the development of effective bonds to this tissue.
