Influence of Immediate Dentin Sealing on the Shear Bond Strength of Pressed Ceramic Luted to Dentin with Self-Etch Resin Cement

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dentistry, 2012
Objectives. To examine the effect of immediate dentin sealing (IDS), with dentin bonding agents (DBAs) applied to freshly cut dentin, on the shear bond strength of etched pressed ceramic luted to dentin with RelyX Unicem (RXU) cement. Method.

Redescription of †Eobrasilia coutoi (Metatheria: Polydolopimorphia), a unique sclerocarpophagous metatherian from the Palaeogene of South America: Systematic affinities, and paleoecological and evolutionary implications

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The ‘Palaeogene strata’ of the Itaboraí Basin (upper Paleocene‐lower Eocene), Southeastern Brazil, has preserved 29 genera and almost 50 species of metatherians (about 65% of its mammalian diversity). Among them, Eobrasilia coutoi Simpson, 1947 is the most enigmatic due to its quite fragmentary nature.

Inhibition of Marginal Leakage with a Dentin Bonding Agent

open access: yes, 1984
Class V cavity preparations were treated in vitro with dentin bonding agents and composite. The teeth were thermally cycled, stained, and scored for marginal leakage, by a silver stain technique.

Effect of dentin on the antibacterial activity of dentin bonding agents

open access: yes, 2004
Dentin bonding agents with antibacterial effects may inhibit secondary caries formation and pulp inflammation by eliminating residual bacteria in and on dentin.

Influence of different surface treatments of fiberglass posts on the bond strength to dentin

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Oral Sciences, 2017
Aim: To assess the influence of different fiberglass post surface treatments on the bond strength (BS) to root dentin. Methods: Thirty bovine root canals were endodontically treated and filled with gutta-percha and AH Plus sealer.

Beyond antimicrobials: Ecological nano‐strategies for rebalancing dysbiotic oral microbial homeostasis

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Oral microbial homeostasis, a dynamic host‐microbe balance, is vital in infectious diseases. Conventional antibiotics often disrupt this homeostasis, spurring interest in nanomaterials for oral microbial homeostasis rebalancing. This review outlines nanomaterial strategies across three ecological levels (population/community, ecosystem, and cross ...

Long-term bond strength of adhesive systems applied to etched and deproteinized dentin

open access: yesJournal of Applied Oral Science, 2007
The aim of this study was to evaluate the early and 12-month bond strength of two adhesive systems (Single Bond-SB and One Step-OS) applied to demineralized dentin (WH) and demineralized/NaOCl-treated dentin (H). Twenty flat dentin surfaces were exposed,

Novel nitro‐quinoline photoinitiators for composites: exploring the effects of hydroxyl and methacrylate substituents on the photopolymerization of dimethacrylate matrices

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
New quinoline derivatives proved to be efficient photoinitiators for dental resin monomers under two different light‐curing units, yielding favorable conversion, color and fluorescence results in the presence of different co‐initiators, including an eco‐friendly alternative.

Classification of Dentin Bonding Agents [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Dentinski adhezijski sustavi osiguravaju najpovoljnije uvjete svezivanja kompozitnih materijala na površinu tvrdih zubnih tkiva. Jetkanjem cakline ostvaruje se dobra mikromehanička sveza i visok stupanj fizičkog spajanja kompozitnih materijala i cakline.

Surface Micro‐Discharge Plasma for Multiple Teeth Bleaching: Efficacy, Mechanism and Safety

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is the commonly‐used bleaching chemical in clinical practice, but its excessive concentrations can cause tooth damage. Atmospheric pressure cold plasma is considered a promising new technique for tooth bleaching. Surface micro‐discharge (SMD) devices can generate large‐scale plasma, which holds potential for treating ...
