Effect of dentin desensitizing procedures on methyl methacrylate diffusion through dentin [PDF]
Background: Acrylic and bisacryl resins are widely used both during the temporization phase as well as for provisional restorations and the effect of external agents on dentin sensitivity can be reduced by the obliteration of the tubules. Objective: The ...

Successful management of gingival recession with creeping attachment: A case report
Key Clinical Message A successful management of a mandibular recession with creeping attachment using free gingival graft. This case highlights the “wait‐and‐see” approach in the treatment plan, emphasizing the root coverage. Abstract This clinical report describes the case of a 23‐year‐old female patient with gingival recession of the mandibular left ...

Biological shaping as a conservative alternative for crown lengthening: A review
Abstract Objectives The perio‐restorative approach to maintaining supracrestal tissue attachment (STA; formerly known as biologic width) is a fundamental goal in modern dentistry. This article aims to review the clinical impact of biologic shaping (BS) as an innovative alternative to traditional crown lengthening procedures, reflecting over two decades

Abstract Background The discoloration potential of dental materials and applications such as vital pulp therapy also cause discoloration due to the presence of blood. Dentin tubule sealing methods could be used for the prevention of discoloration. Aim The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of sealing pulp chamber walls with Nd:YAG laser ...

A randomized clinical trail was designed to compare the efficacy of two commercially available desensitizing agents (fluoride varnish containing 6% sodium fluoride and 6% calcium fluoride and a gel containing 6% potassium nitrate and 0.11% fluoride ions) in the treatment of dentinal hypersensitivity.Randomized clinical trial.Twenty-one patients were ...

Desensitized Cubature Kalman Filter with Uncertain Parameter [PDF]
A robust desensitized cubature Kalman filtering (DCKF) for nonlinear systems with uncertain parameter is proposed. Sensitivity matrices are defined as the integral form, and desensitized cost function is designed by penalizing the posterior covariance trace by a sensitivity-weighting sum of the posteriori sensitivities.

Abstract Background Evidence on the efficacy of calcium sodium phosphosilicate (CSPS) and arginine dentifrices on reducing root sensitivity (RS) following non‐surgical periodontal therapy (NSPT) is limited. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of these dentifrices in reducing RS during daily activities in patients undergoing NSPT.

Laser therapy in the treatment of dentine hypersensitivity [PDF]
Cervical dentine hypersensitivity is the most frequent complaint among reported odontalgias. Thus, this study evaluated the effectiveness of two types of lasers (660 nm wavelength red, and 830 nm wavelength infrared) as dentine desensitizers, as well as ...
