Autotransplantation of Tooth in Children with Mixed Dentition

open access: yesJournal of Oral Health and Community Dentistry, 2013
ABSTRACT Autotransplantation of tooth in children is the surgical movement of a tooth from one place in the mouth to another in the similar individual. Once thought to be uncertain, Autotransplantation has achieved high success rates and is an outstanding option for tooth replacement in children.

Neuromorphic Motor Control with Electrolyte‐Gated Organic Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Electrolyte‐gated organic synaptic transistor (EGOST)‐based neuromorphic motor control systems integrate sensing, processing, and actuation by mimicking biological synapses. With advantages such as low power consumption, tunable synaptic plasticity, and mechanical flexibility, they are emerging as next‐generation core technologies for real‐time ...

Relative cost of ginning cotton using saw, conventional roller, and high‐speed roller gins in the United States

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
Abstract The primary objective of this study was to investigate whether the cost of processing cotton using high‐speed roller gins is comparable to saw gins. The results from a “true” random effect model estimated using proprietary data voluntarily shared by cotton gins operating in Arizona and California showed that the average cost inefficiency for ...

DePerio: Deep Learning‐Based Oral Inflammatory Load Quantification for Periodontal Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
1) Inflammation and oral polymorphonuclear neutrophil (oPMN) Migration: Dental plaque accumulation leads to inflammation, prompting white blood cells (WBCs), particularly oPMNs, to migrate from blood vessels through the gingival epithelium into the oral cavity.

Changes in the Distribution of Periodontal Nerve Fibers during Dentition Transition in the Cat.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
The periodontal ligament has a rich sensory nerve supply which originates from the trigeminal ganglion and trigeminal mesencephalic nucleus. Although various types of mechanoreceptors have been reported in the periodontal ligament, the Ruffini ending is ...

Ultralight Soft Wearable Haptic Interface with Shear‐Normal‐Vibration Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study proposes soft wearable haptic interface using pneumatic actuators and origami pumps. This interface can generate multiple sensations such as touching, slipping, and vibrating. To show performance and wearability of this interface, virtual reality is connected with the interface, and user tests are conducted.

An International ASXL3 Natural History Study: Deep Phenotypic Analyses Including Detailed Reports of a Milder Phenotype, Novel Associations, and Clinical Recommendations

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Natural History Studies can help inform clinician and caregiver expectations, form the basis of management guidelines, and provide a comparator for therapeutic intervention. In rare conditions, where collection of prospective longitudinal data is untimely and impractical, quasi‐natural history data—from multiple individuals of different ages ...

Leeway space and the resolution of crowding in the mixed dentition

open access: yesSeminars in Orthodontics, 1995
The leeway space provides adequate space to resolve crowding that is present in the mixed dentition in the majority of individuals. This space can be maintained by preserving arch length with a lingual arch as the primary teeth begin to exfoliate, unless conditions such as the premature loss of a primary canine require earlier intervention.

Electrical Stimulation of Trigeminal Nerve at the Anterior Nasal Septum in Healthy Individuals and Patients With Olfactory Dysfunction

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The intranasal trigeminal system contributes to the sense of smell. Its integrity in olfactory dysfunction (OD) may be crucial for future treatments. This study assessed trigeminal sensitivity in healthy individuals and patients with OD of different etiologies using electrical stimulation of the nasal mucosa.
