Correlation Between the New Bite Force Meter and GC Dental Prescale II

open access: yesJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
This study evaluated a new one‐sided bite force meter (OBM‐01). In healthy and older adults, the device showed good reliability and moderate correlation with Dental Prescale II measurements. Habitual chewing side bite force was significantly higher, suggesting OBM‐01 may be useful for assessing oral function in clinical settings.

Effects of Meal Consumption on Isotonic Lingual Endurance in Healthy Adults: A Multi‐Institutional Study

Isotonic tongue endurance was measured pre‐ and post‐meal using the Iowa Oral Performance Instrument (IOPI) in healthy younger (18–35 years) and older (≥ 65 years) adults. Older adults demonstrated greater isotonic endurance and longer mealtimes, with no sex differences in endurance.
